Alphabet letter shakers 3D print STL files
These alphabet shakers can lead to all sorts of creative and improvisatory musical play, all while reinforcing basic literacy concepts! We improvise cumulative songs with kids where they decide what trip we are taking, then each child draws a letter shaker from a bag and shares what they are bringing on the trip that starts with that letter. The students play along rhythmically with their shakers while giggling over the exciting and unusual items coming along on our imaginary trip.
These letters were designed to be a prop in music class. They are printed printed at .2, 15% infill and 2 wall loops. However, you can always up the resolution without impacting the sound. Make sure to schedule a pause in printing towards the top so you can add dry rice/beans/anything you want to use. We use a 50/50 mixture of dried rice and lentils.
The download is a ZIP file that contains 26 individual STL files, each for a different 2.5” letter, and one additional file that fits all 26 letters onto a single printing plate at 75% scale.
If you print it and have trouble, please ask questions! And if you love it, please let me know what songs you use it for! -Jen Kass, (MA, MT-BC) medleyjlk@gmail.com
